This past Christmas, I was absolutely blown away (okay every Christmas, lol) by the thoughtfulness shown by others to my family and myself.  Of course, we have much to be thankful for all year around. This season was still so special, with family, a comfortable home, and not just one baby, but two little ones.  God has truly blessed us; provided for us in past and present. I am so grateful, words cannot even begin to cover it.
I enjoy watching other people online celebrate this season too, thus viewing vlogs, and hauls of theirs I find heaps of fun.  Likewise, I thought I'd share a bit of what I had received this holiday.
Surprise!....
Here are the photos and swatches of the surprise gifts from my friend, Honey (aka HoneyKahoohanohano on youtube).

I was so excited to hear that the Balm's Nude'tude (Naughty) palette made Hautelooks fifty-percent off sale. Hubby agreed that I could order it for myself for Christmas as a gift from him. I have been eyeing this almost all year.
I want to thank Honey for the gifts. I am looking forward to playing with it all soon. I would also like to extend my thanks to EVERYONE who thought of my family and I and wish everyone awesome year to come!

On Sunday, I had planned to film my December fav's, but being snowed in by the almighty "Arctic Blast" that is sweeping the midwest to the east, I felt inspired to create another winter makeup look.  This one was actually an experiment; not having practiced it before.  I like how it turned out for the most part.  It is pretty close to what I had in mind.  However, I would like to make note that I regret having used the wet mineral shadow on the waterline. My eyes were very irritated later.  But to a large extent, everything else worked out fine and looked nice (at least I think so).  To see how I created this look play the video below.
What I used:
Tarte Lifted Primer
Physician's Formula Organic Black Mascara
Stila Lip Glaze in Smooch
OFRA  Lipgloss plumer in Sultry

Monave products (ONLY) are from http://www.monave.com
Mineral Versatile Powder in Deep Plum #13
Semi Matte White Mineral Eyeshadow in 61m
Matte Shadow/Liner In 106 Dark Eggplant
Pink Face Illuminizer
Monave Blush in 217

MONAVE PRODUCTS WERE SENT TO ME FREE FOR PERSONAL USE, TESTING AND REVIEW PURPOSES. I ALWAYS GIVE MY HONEST OPINION 100%.   I am so excited to have a new tutorial up, as it feels like ages since my last one.  I pulled out my second most used makeup palette to create a simple purple, charcoal smokey which would be perfect for winter. To be honest, I do like to wear this all year round and switch it up a bit with a different lip color.
What I used for this look:
Tarte Lifted Eye Primer
Tarte Eye Couture Eyeshadow Palette
Urban Decay Naked Basics 24/7 Eyeliner in Crave and Venus
Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched
Wet n Wild Fergie Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow
Physician's Formula Organicwear Black Mascara
Too Faced Primed and Poreless Face Primer
Mary Kay Lipstick in Rosette

My face was already flushed so I skipped the blush. I would have used the Nyx Cream Blush in Boho Chic.

I WAS SENT THE MARY KAY LIPSTICK FREE COURTESY OF INFLUENSTER AND MARY KAY. AGAIN I STILL ALWAYS GIVE MY HONEST OPINION 100%.

I must confess, from the spoilers release for this month's Ipsy bag, I wasn't too excited about any one product.  One polish, the textured one, peaked my interest, as I have never tried one before, however, that was all. Oh, and the bag looked very nice. I favored the design for this month; a quilted style in black will go nicely with most of my handbags. Personally, I love it when a makeup bag doesn't clash with the print or style of a handbag I am using in the moment.
Despite my expectations, I found that majority of my items for December, turned out quite lovely.  I could have done without the falsies. I generally use those for going out with girl friends, on a date with hubby, or for an elaborate makeup tutorial.  I have tried everything except the false lashes.  I make note, my thoughts expressed are first impressions, since I have not used these products for a long enough period of time to give a definite opinion. So without further a do, here are the items I received in this month's Ipsy bag....
Picture
Julie G Textured Nail Polish in Sugar Plum Fairy
Picture
I used this color as an accent on my ring fingers.  This polish is gorgeous!! I can definitely see what all the fuss is about over textured nail polishes now. This one looked so beautiful with flecks of silver and even hot pink.  I am looking forward to doing more with it.  I don't own many purple nail polishes, and this shade is just perfect for me.
This Julie G polish can be found on Jesse's Girl Cosmetics' website and .35 fl oz is sold for $3.99.

Picture
Be A Bombshell Cosmetics The One Stick In Flustered
I really enjoyed the Be A Bombshell Cosmetics products I have tried so far.  The lip crayon I was sent of theirs in last month's Ipsy bag was wonderful.  This one stick is supposed to be for multiple purposes- eyelids, cheeks, and lips.  I have tried it for all three. I don't like using it as a color for my lids.  Red eye shadow, for me anyways, is difficult to pull off, but it did work nicely for blush and on my lips. A LITTLE goes a long way, when used as a blush.  I noticed many girls had complained it made them look like a clown, on Ipsy's website.  I would advise to use sparingly and apply with your fingers a little at a time, buffing it in the apples of your cheeks. It does have a dye-or bleed to it when used on the lips.  Thus, I have to use great care during application for this.  This product is sold on Be A Bombshell Cosmetics' website for sixteen dollars (and just in this product there is the price of this month's Ipsy bag,... plus more!).
Picture
Nyx Cosmetics Extra Creamy Round Lipstick In LSS 565
True to it's name the consistency of this lipstick is very creamy.  The color payoff is good; a nice mauve pink.  I don't normally wear mauve, but this seemed to work well with my skin tone.  It will make a lovely color to wear for fall and even winter, I think.  These lipsticks can be found on Nyx Cosmetics' website, Ulta's website, and even some drugstores.  They are sold for around four dollars.
Picture
Swatches: Top- Be A Bombshell One Stick in Flustered, Bottom-Nyx Cosmetics Creamy Round Lipstick in LSS565
Picture
Pop Beauty "Smokin' Hot" Eye Shadows
This eyeshadow trio most certainly works better than the Pop Beauty's lip crayon, I once tried from Ipsy.  The colors blended nicely together. The first two shades seem a bit buttery, while the darkest one is a bit chalky.  When applied over a good primer (I used Tarte's lifted) they lasted all afternoon in to the evening.  This trio, I believe, is a sample of the "Smokin' Hot" twenty eye shadows palette.  That palette is being sold on Pop Beauty's Website for twenty-four dollars.
Picture
Used in this look from this month's Ipsy bag: on the eyes-Pop Beauty Trio in "Smokin' Hot," on the cheeks-Be A Bombshell Cosmetics One Stick in Flustered, and on the Lips Nyx Cosmetics Creamy Round Lipstick in LSS565. To complete this look, other products were also used.
PictureAndrea Strip Lashes in 33 Black
And the last item in December's Ipsy bag is a pair of Andrea false lashes.  As stated, I have yet to try them, so I don't even have first impressions to offer as of yet.
These lashes are sold at drugstores and Ulta for around $3.99.

Are you an Ipsy subscriber? What was your favorite item(s) this month?  I would love to hear your thoughts about the products you are giving a try!  If you're not a subscriber, I would still enjoy reading comments about what new products or even current loves you are using.

I was tagged sometime ago by my friend Honey (honeygirlsworld), for the Colors of the Rainbow.  While she did a nail and lippy version, I will only be doing nail varnishes for this particular tag, as I don't have some of the shades in lipsticks.  My thoughts will be relayed about them in the video.  Here, I will provide close up pictures of the discussed nail polishes.

I did miss October favorites, and have decided to just start my monthly favorites in November (combining the last two months would make a VERY long blog post and video).  This month I was reaching for various things; some old and some very new.
Picture
Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck fragrance was marked down to twenty-five dollars at my local Walmart! :D
I purchased a new fragrance, Wonderstruck, this month.  It smells delightful!  I bought it in the size one fluid ounce.  While I love its scent, my husband unfortunately, does not.  Due to his displeasure, after I finish it, I will be buying a different perfume.  I am a hopeless case when it comes to packaging and the design for this bottle looks so elegant.  The perfume's scent is light and floral. The staying power, for me anyways, is about three to four hours. Wonderstruck's notes include Freesia, Green Tea, Apple Blossom, Raspberry, and Dewberry.
Picture
This fragrance smells great AND doesn't have toxin and chemicals in it. AWESOME!
Recently, I did a review on the Harvey Prince's Ageless perfume samples I had received from beautystat.  While I will not reiterate all the details again, I do want make note that it had indeed made this month's favorites.  Its scent is a luscious blend of fruits.  Their fragrances do not harbor any toxins in the ingredients used and are cruelty free. This is a definite winner to me.
Picture
A great moisturizer for my dry skin.
In October, Ipsy had sent me a sample of h20+ face oasis hydrating treatment in my glam bag.  It is exactly what they named it--hydrating. I used it as a moisturizer after cleansing my face in the evening and as needed throughout the day.  I deal with dry skin, so after a day or two of use, I do begin to see those dry patches disappear.  As you can see in the photo I have used most of it up.  This does have a strange house cleaning agent smell. I don't know if I will be replacing it, however it has worked well for me.
PictureI like to use these shades together :)
Since its initial release, I have been eyeing the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic palette.  Feeling the discount code Ipsy provided this month provided a good deal for it, I decided to purchase the palette.
It is even more gorgeous in person!  I love baked cosmetics.  And this eighteen eyeshadow palette really hit it out of the park.  Thus far, I have tried the shades Jupiter and Saturn together (Saturn on the lid, and Jupiter applied in the crease) for a glowy, peach look I was wanting to achieve.  These shadows are stunning metallics.  I am so glad BH Cosmetics created such a palette.  The shadows I have tried lasted all day, and when applied over a base and primer they have a nice creamy appearance.  They are very pigmented.

Picture
Nyx butter glosses have to be some of my favorite glosses to use!
In addition to the shadows from the BH Galaxy palette, to create my look, I also used two other products that made November favorites.  The first is my NYX butter lip gloss in Peaches and Cream and the second is my Maybelline bouncy blush in Candy Coral.
I am quite fond of my NYX butter glosses.  I even did a rave review on them months ago. They are so much fun!  They can be used for a quick glaze of color or be built on for a matte, bold pout; and they have a yummy, sweet scent.
Picture
I wanted a subtle orange flush in my cheeks, so I made use of my Candy Coral bouncy blush. It did the job splendidly.
Sadly, I haven't been able to locate my Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renwal; so lately, I have been using my Nume finish serum as a leave-in-conditioner.  It helps with the frizz, adds a glossy shine, and is supposed to treat split ends.  It has been a nice alternative, though, I must say that it seems a little bit more heavy than my Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal.
Lastly, my recent acquisition of pink, hair feather extensions made November favorites.  I purchased a set of these off of ebay.  I have yet to try hot tools them, but I have brushed, washed, and conditioned my hair many times and the five I put in still look fabulous.  Long have I wanted to add pink color to my hair, but to dye it would mean more upkeep than I would like. Feather extensions have been a nice trade off.
I would like to thank my readers for dropping by to check on what's new with me, and would love to hear what you all are enjoying this month. Please, feel free to leave a comment below!

I have really dry, coarse hair.  If I do not keep it hydrated, in a sense, it looks frizzy and damaged.  Because of this, I am constantly trying to find products to put moisture back in my waist length locks.  I learned of Shea Moisture Organic Shampoo from my sister-in-law, about a year ago, and since then I have been hooked.  I have permanently added it to my hair care routine; I love it so.
Picture
My hair tends to be more wavy after the initial wash, but I still think it works great!
Shea Moisture is a brand, carried by many drugstores, which specializes in organic skin and hair care.  This particular shampoo sells for around $9.99; I generally do not like to spend that much on a shampoo, however considering the results I receive from using this and its lack of many toxic properties found other brands, I do think it is money well spent.
As described in its name it does smell like coconut.  The scent is so delicious and lasts hours later.  Since it is all natural I have even used it on my eldest's hair and gives her tresses the same effect - glossy, fragrant, and a healthy appearance.  It works so well that if I was in a pinch and had no conditioner, I could get by easily.  I believe this is due to the natural oils (coconut and neem) and Shea butter used as ingredients.
It does NOT contain parabens, phthalates, paraffin, gluten, propylene glycol, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, PABA, synthetic color, DEA, animal ingredients, or sulfates.  Another awesome attribute this company has to offer is they are not involved in any animal testing.
I definitely recommend this product and honestly cannot think of any negatives in regards to it.

A little over two weeks ago, I received two perfume samples, courtesy of beautystat.com, for filling out a suvey. I was suprised by this kind gift and was intriqued when I noted a company I had never heard of before now. I was sent Ageless, a product from a company called Harvey Prince. I have been using this scent quite often and I really wanted to do a review on it.
                                       About the company...
This company was ingeniously created by two brothers, who felt that the concept of overly priced fragrances filled with toxins was not to their own liking. They wished to produce a fragrance that still smelled nice, yet did not have chemicals.  Sparked by their love for their mother, and her adoration for reputable products they formulated their first fragrance -Ageless.
Their products are created here in the US with essential oils and natural oils (from all over the world), they are a hundred percent cruelty-free, are not used in animal testing, and do not posses phthalates, parabens, sulfates, benzene, GMOs, or triclosan.
I feel this perfume is true to its name - perfect for any age.  It is light and feminine, and not too heavy or overpowering.  Its notes are:  pink grapefruit, mango, pomegranate, jasmine, musk, and apple.  I don't usually wear musks as they often tend to be a bit too strong for me, but in this blend I don't even notice it. This lovely cocktail of scents is so luxuriously intertwined I cannot tell one note from another, however it does smell lovely.
As for the staying power, for my body chemistry anyway, I think it lingers a good three to four hours.  A 3.4 oz full sized of this scent sells for $98.  They also have smaller sizes.
I love this scent and how I can apply it with out any worry of chemicals.  For the price I do wish it had a little bit longer of a staying power, however I also know that most products that are more natural do tend to cost more.  I leave the reader to decide accordingly.
I do recommend this product. I often dab some on my wrists and neck.  My husband and my mother have a strong keen sense of smell and I have had no negative feedback from them. They are oft the first ones to let me know if a perfume I am wearing is too much.
It is such a delight to learn and discover an new company and I have truly enjoyed taking this product for a run.  I would like to extend my gratitude to BeautyStat for sending this.

Oh, I am definitely going to "glam it up" this month!
I usually hunt online for any leaks as to what our next ipsy bag may be a week before the sneak peeks are released on facebook. So, I of course I was excited to find that everyone would be receiving a full sized product from Michelle Phan's new cosmetic line em; and with each new sneak peek on Ipsy's facebook fan page my anticipation grew.

 What I received this month...
PictureI used eclipse to contour my eyes. Other products from my bag used in this look are the star looks pencil and the pixi bronzer...
I have been eyeing the new BH Cosmetics galaxy palette for a while now.  I love the look of "baked" makeup. The colors look so pretty on the website.  When our discount codes were up for the various products we were being sent, I decided to finally purchase it.  I am really looking forward to trying it.  I fell in love with my BH Cosmetics Malibu Palette, so naturally I have high expectations for this particular palette.
Today, I played with some of my new additions-including this sample, eclipse, from the galaxy palette-which I did receive in this month's ipsy bag.  I noticed when applied directly over a base, it gave off a really nice buttery pigmentation.  I used it to contour my eyes and to darken my lower lash line.  This sample's color pay off is MUCH better than the BH Cosmetics sample trio, we got in an ipsy bag this past summer.  This sample is like a gunmetal silver with purple reflects in it.

PictureStarlooks Gem Eyeliner Pencil
For this look, I lined my lower waterline and inner corner with my new Starlooks Gem Eyeliner pencil in Amethyst.  It is a metallic silver with the slightest twinge of purple.  In fact, the purple seems to disappear altogether once applied, but it is gorgeous!

Picture
Be a bombshell cosmetics lip crayon
I was a bit concerned when I saw that I was to receive another lip crayon in an ipsy bag. The last one I was sent was by Pop Beauty. That crayon was very drying.  I have to use it with another lipstick with a creamy consistency to make it work.
However, when I applied be a bombshell cosmetic's lip crayon, in shade "Hot Damn," I was pleasantly surprised of how effortless it smoothed on my lips. It didn't seem drying, and the pigmentation is stunning.
Picture
When Michelle Phan released her line, I was very interested in the "pillow" lippie on her website, and had hoped it would be selected for my bag this month.  But, I was not disappointed when I was sent to try this creamy lipstick of hers in Cabana Beige instead.  This has to be one of the best nude lipsticks I have ever tried.  It was very creamy, and didn't look pasty or like a foundation (which has been the case with some nude lipsticks I have tried in the past).

PicturePixi Beauty Bronzer
I have to say, I do wish this pixi bronzer in Subtly Suntouched was a tad bit darker.  I have very fair skin, yet I still had to use quite a bit to build up a nice color to contour.  I kept applying and applying.

That being said, it could be a great bronzer to start with for those who have an aversion to really dark bronzers and want to slowly build a glow.

I think the packaging is really cute.  I would much rather my hard blushes and bronzers to open on a hinge instead of a lid I have to screw on and off, but this is just my personal preference.

Picture
Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Caviar Cocktail
Lastly, I received in this bag a nail lacquer from nailtini.  I think the silver shade is perfect for fall. One nailtini from a previous bag, I actually gave away. The color just didn't look right with my skin tone; but this looks so pretty.  I enjoy wearing metallic nail colors during the fall and winter. Bravo, Ipsy!!!

Swatches...

For those of you who have been following me on my youtube channel, and/or know me personally, you may be aware that I am subscribed to a beauty subscription called Ipsy.  This subscription has enabled me to try products that I normally wouldn't have thought of trying, for a very low price.  Months ago, I received a cream blush produced by NYX Cosmetics (a drugstore makeup brand) via this subscription.  Since then it has been one of my most often reached for blushes.  In fact, it even made my June favorites.
Picture
As you can see from the fading in the print on top, and the usage inside, this product has been used quite often. ;)
I received the shade Boho Chic, which is a soft, nude pink color.  I have found that this tone works well with most looks that I try.  It has a soft shimmer that is not too over powering.  True to its name, it has a creamy consistency and blends very nicely in the skin, leaving a subtle flush of pink.
Picture
Left: Swatch of product Right: Swatch of product blended into the skin
It does seem to last quite a while. I apply it in the morning and still have a nice soft color by the end of the day.  My skin type is dry and I like to wear stains and cream blushes, that really stay in my skin.
This product is sold for $6.99 on Ulta's website. I definitely recommend this product and I hope to try other shades from this line someday.  I love the quality, consistency, and color payoff.
